Biblical self-love is very different from the self-love promoted by humanism and New Age spirituality and understanding the difference is essential if we are to avoid deception and live according to God’s truth.<\/p>\n

In today’s culture, messages about loving yourself are everywhere. Social media, self-help books, humanism and New Age teachings all encourage people to “look within,” “follow your truth,” and “put yourself first.”<\/p>\n

At first glance, some of these ideas may sound positive, but Christians need discernment. The Bible teaches something very different. Scripture calls us to love ourselves in a healthy, God-centred way\u2014not in a way that exalts ourselves above God or above others.<\/p>\n

Jesus warned us:<\/p>\n

If we are not careful, we can confuse biblical self-love with worldly self-love.<\/p>\n
